Are your 11.5oz and 42oz Beef Tallow products solid or liquid at room temperature?

The product has a consistency very similar to butter. At room temperature, our Beef Tallow will be soft and easy to scoop. If the product is heated, it will liquify. If you prefer a harder fat, you can refrigerate or freeze the product. Refrigeration and/or freezing the product will also extend the shelf life of the fat. How you store your Beef Tallow is completely up to you! It often depends on how you plan to use the fat. The product can be liquified and then hardened again in the refrigerator without any problems. Beef Tallow is naturally shelf stable at room temperatures –For best results, just keep an eye on the best by date printed on your product.

What is the best use for Beef Tallow?

Beef Tallow can be substituted 1:1 for any liquid or solid fat in any recipe! We suggest you get adventurous! However, most often use the product for searing steaks, bringing the flavor out in briskets, frying eggs, and roasting veggies.

Does your spray contain chemicals or propellants?

There are no chemical propellants, additives, or CFCs in this product! We designed our Sprayable Wagyu Beef Tallow to spray using air pressure only. This is a Bag-On-Valve (BOV) system that holds the oil inside of the can in a sealed bag and uses air pressure to release the product when sprayed.

My can isn’t spraying, what can I do?

If the spray can gets cold the fat may solidify making it unable to spray properly. If you think that the nozzle may be clogged, please run the nozzle under hot water for 30 –60 seconds to melt the oil. If the can has been refrigerated or exposed to cold temperatures, you can submerge the can in hot water for the same amount of time which will also work. DO NOT REFRIGERATE THIS PRODUCT. The can should be stored at room temperature in order to spray properly.

Is your Wagyu Beef Tallow Grass-Fed?

Our Wagyu Beef Tallow is not 100% Grass Fed. Our Wagyu ranches follow the Japanese model of raising cattle on open pastures. Our suppliers use Japanese traditions and finish the cattle on proprietary diets that can include brewers grains and other proprietary feeds.

Can you taste the rosemary extract in the lard?

The rosemary extract has all flavoring removed. We just use that as a natural preservative so you should not experience any rosemary flavor at all.
