Ingredients:
● ¾ cup Traditional All-purpose Lard
● 1 cup molasses
● 2 eggs
● 1 tsp baking soda
● ½ tsp salt
● 2 tsp cinnamon
● 2 tsp ginger
● 6 cups all-purpose flour
Directions:
1. Combine 1 cup molasses, ¾ cup all-purpose lard, and ½ cup hot water in a large bowl. Next add 2 eggs.
2. Mix 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp salt, 2 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp ginger, and 6 cups all-purpose flour together.
3. Add dry mixture to wet mixture. Mix well.
4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
5. Roll dough out on a lightly lard-covered surface. Cut with desired shapes. Bake at 350°F for roughly 10 minutes.
Tip: We recommend making a double batch and freezing them for later, trust us–you’ll want more.
